Our Therapists and Clinical Staff
Vice President of Clinical Services
- Rachel Cook Freeman, LCSW, has been with SAC for 7 years. She worked as a therapist with children, adolescents, and adults in individual and group therapy settings at SAC for 5 years, before assuming the position of Vice President of Clinical Services. Rachel received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi and her Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. Rachel is certified in Level I EMDR and has special training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, play therapy, and art therapy. Rachel was the 2006 recipient of the award from Project Safe and the Vanderbilt’s Women’s Center honoring outstanding advocates in their efforts to decrease violence against women. She is a member of the Community Advisory Board through the Department of Children’s Services. She has also worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee College of Social Work. Her primary responsibilities at the Sexual Assault Center are to direct and supervise all of the Clinical Services provided to clients.
Associate Clinical Director
- Eric S. Fogle, MS, is the Associate Clinical Director for the Sexual Assault Center (SAC) in Nashville. Completing his Master’s in Counseling from Tennessee State University in 1990, he is in his 15th year as a clinical therapist working with sexually traumatized victims, specializing in treatment of children. Eric also utilizes his Level I EMDR certification with his clients.
Clinical Therapists
- Amy Allison, MS, is the clinical therapist for SAC in the Clarksville office. Amy has worked with children and families for three years and is currently pursuing licensure as a marriage and family therapist. She has received specialized training in dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and critical incident stress management with schools and children.
- Char Creson, has an EdD in Human Development Counseling, and Masters in Education in Health Promotions and Exercise Science. Dr. Creson's previous experience has been with women and addictions, and also with the corporate sector as a health promotion counselor. She is certified in EMDR and Hypnotherapy, and while she works with all client groups; her primary focus is with adult rape victims and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
- Shelly DeMarsilis, LCSW, has a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, College of Social Work. She is trained in Level I EMDR and has specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and DBT. Shelly has been with SAC for over two years and has worked in the mental health field for over fifteen years, specializing in working with clients of all ages who have experienced sexual assault, co-occurring disorders, addictions and recovery, eating disorders, and PTSD.
- Lisa Lyons, LCSW, specializes in working with adult men and women abused as children. She also works with those who have been raped, are non-offending parents, as well as with adolescents. She has a certification in the “mind body” connection and incorporates body healing with the healing of emotions and spirit. Lisa is certified in EMDR Level II and Hypnotherapy.
- Lori Myers, LCSW, is a Registered Play Therapist. Lori has worked with a multitude of presenting problems including sexual assault, aggression, grief, life transitions and school issues. Lori possesses specialized training in working with children, adolescents and families, with trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, sand tray therapy, art therapy, play therapy and narrative therapy. Lori currently sees children and adolescents as a clinical therapist at the Sexual Assault Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
- Karen Shaw, LPC/MHSP, CTS, has an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. She is a Certified Trauma Specialist, has advanced training in EMDR, and has special training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as play therapy. She specializes in work with children and non-offending parents. Karen is also a presenter, giving lectures and presentations through our Center’s Community Education Department.
- Randi Taylor, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who completed her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. While attending graduate school in Pittsburgh, Randi completed the volunteer training program at Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR), and continued to work and learn there as a volunteer, practicum student, and ultimately a contract therapist for children and adults throughout the subsequent decade. During this time, she also developed a specialty in mood disorders while working in the Mood Disorders Treatment and Research Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Randi has received specialized training in several treatment models, including interpersonal psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Rebekah Zahurones, LCSW, received her BSW undergraduate degree from MTSU and her MSSW degree from University of Tennessee. She specializes in the treatment of child, adolescent, and adult survivors of rape, sexual assault, abuse, and trauma, and has received specialized training in EMDR (level 2), play therapy, and dissociation.
Intake Specialist
- Lanier Bond holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Over the past 9 years she has worked with pregnant and parenting adolescents, victims of child abuse and neglect, domestic violence victims, and adolescents with substance abuse problems in both Tennessee and California.
Victim’s Advocate
- Amy Moseley received a BA in Counseling from Southern Methodist College in 2001. She is currently pursuing a MA in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. Over the past 4 years, she worked with children in the foster care system as a Victim’s Advocate. She assists clients and therapists with legal matters, obtaining victim’s compensation and protecting victim’s rights.
Clinical Projects Manager
- Justine Biola received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Middle Tennessee State University. Justine manages crisis line volunteers and helps with clinical reporting for grants.
Clinical Program Assistant
- Kim Janecek received her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Middle Tennessee State University. Kim works part time in the Nashville office maintaining all client files and supporting the entire clinical staff.
